Treating Swine Flu with TCM

Treating Swine Flu with TCM

Welcome to my blog! My name is Diane Behall and I’m a licensed acupuncturist practicing in Portland, OR. I want to provide you with practical information about using Chinese medicine in your life to prevent illness and treat existing conditions. Why acupuncture – you may ask? In my early twenties I sprained my ankle. After a week of swollen misery and crutches I went for my first acupuncture treatment. The next day the swelling was gone and I could actually put weight on that foot. Wow! One treatment and I was a believer. I want to give you insight into the mystery of Chinese medicine and show you how 2500 years of medical tradition can be incorporated into the Western medicine paradigm. Enjoy!

In my first ever blog post I’d like to give you some information about treating swine flu with traditional Chinese medicine. This article was written by Dr. John Heuertz, DOM and can be found at Golden Flower Herbs.

“Oriental medicine actually has a very good track record with treating a wide variety of respiratory viruses. When SARS hit a few years back, it was strict precautionary measures and Chinese herbal medicine that got Asia through the crisis. We offer this paper to the Oriental Medicine community to help empower us to deal with the questions we face.”
